Dr Joanne Richardson and Dr Anne Savary met when working on separate dental projects with Tibetan refugee children housed by the Dalai Lama’s sister in Tibetan Children’s Villages (TCV schools). Once we had built clinics within the schools and upskilled local dental therapists we reduced the pool of dental disease in these schools to a level managed by the local people.
So we looked at other needy areas and developed the program using local dentists in Nepal.
